This Privacy Policy explains what personal information LandBazaar.in ("we", "us", "our") collects when you use our website, how we use it, and the choices you have. By using LandBazaar.in, you agree to the practices described here.

1. Information we collect

Account information. When you register, we collect your name, email address, phone number, password (stored in encrypted/hashed form, never in plain text), and account type (buyer or seller). Sellers may also provide a company name, seller type, and location.

Listing information. If you list a property, we collect the details you provide about it — title, description, location, price, area, photos, and any documents submitted for seller verification.

Usage information. We automatically log basic technical information such as your IP address (used in anonymized/hashed form for view counts), browser type, and pages visited, to help us understand how the site is used and to prevent abuse.

Communications. If you contact us, post a buyer requirement, or message a seller through the platform, we store that content to facilitate the interaction and for support purposes.

2. How we use your information

• To create and manage your account, and let you log in securely.
• To display your listings or buyer requirements to other users, once approved.
• To let buyers and sellers contact each other directly (we reveal a seller's phone/email to a buyer only after the buyer is registered and logged in).
• To send transactional emails — account registration confirmation, password resets, and notifications about your listings or requirements.
• To review listings and seller verification submissions before they go live.
• To improve the site, prevent fraud and spam, and respond to support requests.

We do not sell your personal information to third parties.

3. Who we share information with

We share information only in these situations:

• With other users, as intended by the platform. A seller's name and contact details are shown to a logged-in buyer viewing their listing. A buyer requirement's contact details are shown to a logged-in seller browsing approved requirements.
• With service providers who help us run the platform — for example, our email delivery provider (for account and notification emails) and hosting provider. These providers only receive what they need to perform their function.
• With mapping and location data services — we use Google Maps and OpenStreetMap data to show property locations and nearby amenities. Loading these embedded maps may involve your browser communicating directly with Google or OpenStreetMap's servers, subject to their own privacy policies.
• If required by law — for example, in response to a valid legal request from a government authority.

4. Cookies and similar technologies

We use essential cookies to keep you logged in and to remember basic preferences (such as your session and CSRF security tokens). We don't currently use third-party advertising or tracking cookies. Google Fonts and embedded maps may set their own cookies when loaded, governed by Google's own privacy policy.

5. Data retention

We retain your account information for as long as your account is active. If you delete your account or ask us to remove your data, we will delete or anonymize it within a reasonable time, except where we're required to retain certain records for legal or accounting purposes.

6. Your rights and choices

• You can review and update your account information any time from your dashboard.
• You can delete, pause, or edit your own listings and buyer requirements at any time.
• You can request a copy of the personal data we hold about you, or request that we delete it, by contacting us (see below). We'll respond within a reasonable time, subject to any legal retention requirements.

7. Data security

We take reasonable technical measures to protect your information, including encrypted password storage, HTTPS encryption in transit, and access controls on our systems. However, no online platform can guarantee absolute security, and we encourage you to use a strong, unique password for your account.

8. Children's privacy

LandBazaar.in is intended for users who are at least 18 years old, as land transactions require legal capacity to enter into contracts. We do not knowingly collect information from minors.

9. Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. If we make material changes, we'll update the "Last updated" date at the top of this page. Continued use of the platform after changes means you accept the updated policy.
